About Us

A happy and healthy life is built upon strong connections to others. Children and adults who feel connected and supported by others have lower rates of anxiety, higher self-esteem, are more empathic, more trusting, enjoy increased physical and emotional health, and are better equipped to fight addiction, depression and suicidal ideation.

Service Life is dedicated to increasing connections among youth and families through impactful events for children, education and trainings, and providing opportunities for connection.

BEHKA WHITE

Board Member

Behka grew up in the Seattle area where her dad taught her to play basketball. Basketball proved to be an integral part of her life, as she went on to play for BYU where she earned her degree in P.E. teaching and coaching. She continues to play and coach, which has provided many unique opportunities and an amazing network of strong women. Behka’s favorite part about life is her husband Rob, and the family they have created. With Rob, she has been blessed with nine children, three of whom passed away from a rare genetic disease as infants. After seeing first-hand the complicated process of grief, Behka found a passion serving bereaved children, and serves as a grief group facilitator at a local high school. From her losses she has learned that life is precious; and that this life is really about the people in it. She loves to read, write, and learn.

Robyn Hutchison

Advisory Board Member

A Utah native, Robyn and her family call Provo home after spending 10 years in Atlanta, Chicago, Little Rock, and Denver. Each place they lived in gave their family new joys, challenges, friendships, and experiences. Robyn is the mother of five children. With her husband, Matt, she's raising her 4 beautiful sons and forever missing her darling daughter who passed away at 15 months in 2015 (SUDC). Robyn served an LDS mission to New Jersey and has a Master's Degree in Spanish Linguistics from BYU. She currently teaches private Spanish lessons and loves seeing her students progress in what she affectionately calls "the language of friendship". She chose to study Spanish because she loves the technical process of learning a language (grammar!) and she loves using that grammar to talk with real people and learn about them. Robyn spends her days at home with her children hoping to build connection with them as well as with the community around her.

Chelsea Baugh

Advisory Board Member

Born and raised as a Texan, Chelsea found herself moving 1500 miles north to Orem Utah to play volleyball for Utah Valley University in the summer of 2004. Shortly after her arrival she met and fell in love with Casey Baugh, and they were married in November 2005. Her love for teaching and children inspired her to choose to major in Elementary Education. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in April of 2008. Ten years later she and her husband are the proud parents of three beautiful, energetic, busy little girls. Her passion to help children find meaningful connections with the world around them stems from seeing the importance in her daughters’ lives as they make those same connections. She finds excitement and enthusiasm when thinking of the great impact Service Life will make in the Utah County communities and beyond!

Randi Holmes

Advisory Board Member

Randi grew up in a small town in South Dakota. She graduated and moved to Utah to attend college. After her sophomore year she met her husband Chris and never looked back! They got married and decided to start their family right away. She had always dreamt of being a mother and they now have four beautiful, spunky children. She loves horses, sports, all types of games or puzzles and doing any kind of service!

Growing up in a very rural community, Randi was able to be involved in every sport and activity that was available to the youth. During that time and as years went on she saw the importance of youth being connected and active on a daily basis. This is now something she is trying to implement in her own childrens’ lives and in the youth communities around her. Experiences, connecting and serving are all very crucial for child development and she is very passionate about sharing and creating these opportunities for youth wherever she lands. She has always been very passionate about service, especially for the youth. She is so excited to be apart of Service Life and to be able to continue spreading this wonderful message, all while creating and opening more doors for youth and adults to connect and serve together!
